Lightning Lake is popular with anglers, as well as the other three lakes in the Lightning Lakes chain: Flash, Strike, and Thunder. Follow the Lightning Lakes Chain trail to access these quality fishing lakes. Other popular lakes are Poland Lake at the end of Poland Lake trail, and Nicomen Lake, along the Heather Trail. Anglers can expect healthy rainbow trout from all these locations.

The Similkameen, Skagit, and Sumallo rivers offer a variety of fishing holes. Rainbow trout can be found in all three rivers, and Dolly Varden can be found in the Skagit and Sumallo. Easy river access locations include Sumallo Grove, Cayuse Flats, Monument 78/83, and Coldspring and Mule Deer campgrounds.

Always check the current fishing regulations before angling in E.C. Manning Park. Fishing licenses are not available in E.C. Manning Park and should be purchased online or from a sporting good store prior to your arrival. Visit for more information.
