Create a hanging lantern to bring to the Torchlight Parade the following evening at the Alpine ski area. This workshop at the Lodge allows you to create your own unique design or offers expert help if needed.
Lantern kits are available per person, or work together to make one with your family!

Registration is limited so sign up in advance at the Nordic Centre for this tour.
Ice Skating Carnival
Join the carnival-like celebrations at the ice skating rink this New Year’s Eve, with extended hours. Rent your skates at the Nordic Centre and join the fun!
Fireworks: 12 pm
Ring in the New Year with fireworks celebrations at midnight! The best place to watch is outside the Pinewoods building, looking up towards the Cascade Look-out road.
Bear’s Den Pub will be open for festivities until closing time.

The 4th Annual Blackwall Bash Race
The Blackwall Bash is a challenging new race to the top of Manning Park’s Blackwall Nordic trail. Skate or classic ski either option:
- 8 km (1500 ft. elevation gain) to Cascade Lookout; or
- 16 km (2500 ft. elevation gain) to the Alpine at Blackwall Peak.
Race participants send up a bag with warm clothes to be waiting for them at the finish line.

Sign up for the Manning Park’s Cascade Cup Loppet, a cross country ski event taking place 10 am – 1:30 pm at Lightning Lake in Manning Park Resort. Afterward, lunch and the awards ceremony begin at 2 pm.
Park at the Lightning Lake race site or at Manning Park Resort Lodge. From the Lodge, take the shuttle bus up to the lake 8:30 and 9:30 am.
Choose the 2, 4, 15 or 30 km race. Race fees include daily trail pass and post race lunch.

Enjoy a winter tradition in Manning Park’s true Alpine wilderness. Experience snowshoeing after dark with our Starlight Guided Snowshoe Tour.
Join our experienced guides for a 2-hour snowshoe adventure under the stars.
Trek through powder christened pines across snow crested fields. Return to the Nordic Centre later for a hot drink.
Cost: $30 per person, includes snowshoe rentals. $20 per person, if you bring your own snowshoes. Sign up in advance at the Nordic Centre.
Do the St. Paddy’s Snowshoe Stomp – try this snowshoe scavenger hunt with a riddle twist!
We will have riddles hidden out along our snowshoe trails in the trail network around the Resort. Participants can find the stations, solve the riddles and enter to win prizes. Entry will be free with snowshoe rental, or if you have your own snowshoes, you can enter for $2 for individuals or $5 for a team. The riddles will be up and entries will be accepted from 8:30am-6:30pm on March 17th.
