We are getting ready to invite you up to the new and improved Manning Park Resort ski area for the start of Winter 2019/20! We know you’re going to be impressed with the exciting changes!
We invite you to our Grand Opening Celebration to officially open our new quad, the Bear Chair, and catch the first ride up for the season. Afterwards, we will have an Après-Ski get-together in the Daylodge.
Opening ceremony at 8:40am to officially open the new Bear Chair, and the start of the winter season. Refreshments will be served in the new Alpine Guest Services building from 8am; have your gear ready to go and catch one of the first chairs up
2:30-4pm: Après-Ski in the Daylodge. Have some appies on us, and get yourself a cold Old Yale beer post-ski!
Snowshoeing season has started already, with the Nordic Centre open weekends and snowshoe rentals available from the Front Desk outside of these times. We’re looking for a little more snow to be able to groom the cross-country trails, but we can see there is some snow in the forecast for next week.

CANSI Level 1 – Cross-Country Ski Instructor Course and Refresher
This 20-hour course will introduce you to the fundamentals of X-Country skiing and the Canadian technique. You will improve your demonstration skills and learn how to introduce new people to the sport.
The course will be run on Sundays, so will not be consecutive days. More time to practice and be sure of your skills!

The CANSI XC Level I course is a pedagogical course designed to teach participants how to teach. Participants are expected to enter the course skiing at or close to the appropriate level. Participants are tested on their diagonal stride, double poling, one skate and snowplow turn, and will be expected to perform other skiing manoeuvres reasonably well. Watch the video to determine if your skiing is at the level necessary for a Level I course. Participants are also expected to have a general understanding of the key points for each of the different techniques. This questionnaire will help you assess your understanding of these techniques and their key points.
