The Boathouse is located at Lightning Lake Day Use Area down Gipson Pass Rd. about 4km from the Resort Lodge.
Equipment is rented on a first come - first serve basis, be aware that equipment is subject to availability. A credit card imprint is required for all rentals. The minimum rental time is 1 hour. Returns later than 7:00pm will be subject to applicable charges.
All rates include taxes. Refunds will not be given for early returns.

A small boat launch is available at Lightning Lake day use area beside the boathouse. No motorized craft of any kind are permitted on Lightning Lake or any water body in E.C. Manning Park.
No fires or camping allowed on beaches. No open alcohol. Pets are permitted in designated pet areas only and are not allowed on beaches. Pets must be leashed at all times.
Lightning Lake day use area is located approx. 4km west of Manning Park Lodge on Gibson Pass Rd. It provides a large grassy play area, picknick tables, volley-ball net, water tap, pit toilets, change rooms, and boat launch. Lightning Lake day use area is home to the Boathouse, with available canoe, kayak, and row-boat rentals. Multiple trails are accessible from the parking lot, the most popular being the Lightning Lake Loop. The day use area is wheelchair accessible.
Pets are not allowed on Lightning Lake beach. Pets are allowed only on the far left portion of the Lightning Lake day use area and must be leashed at all times. Powered watercraft are not allowed on Lightning Lake.
Spruce Bay beach is located adjacent to Lightning Lake campground. It is accessible from Lightning Lake Loop trail, Spruce Bay parking lot or by boat. A grass play area, water tap and picknick tables are available. Visit the nearby Rainbow Bridge on Lightning Lake Loop trail, or take in a Visitor Program at the Lightning Lake Amphitheater. Washrooms are located in Lightning Lake campground.
Pets are not allowed on Spruce Bay beach.
Lone Duck Bay beach is located along the Lightning Lake Loop trail adjacent to the Lone Duck group campground. There is a small grass area with available picknick tables. Pit toilets and a water tap are located nearby in Lone Duck campground.

Lightning Lake is popular with anglers, as well as the other three lakes in the Lightning Lakes chain: Flash, Strike, and Thunder. Follow the Lightning Lakes Chain trail to access these quality fishing lakes. Other popular lakes are Poland Lake at the end of Poland Lake trail, and Nicomen Lake, along the Heather Trail. Anglers can expect healthy rainbow trout from all these locations.
The Similkameen, Skagit, and Sumallo rivers offer a variety of fishing holes. Rainbow trout can be found in all three rivers, and Dolly Varden can be found in the Skagit and Sumallo. Easy river access locations include Sumallo Grove, Cayuse Flats, Monument 78/83, and Coldspring and Mule Deer campgrounds.
Always check the current fishing regulations before angling in E.C. Manning Park. Fishing licenses are not available in E.C. Manning Park and should be purchased online or from a sporting good store prior to your arrival. Visit http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/fw/fish/regulations/ for more information.
